Every Colombia route we cover, with a short summary of who it is for.
Colombia Visitor Visa (Type V)
The Type V visa is for foreign nationals visiting or staying in Colombia temporarily and non-permanently — for tourism, business, events, medical treatment, short study in arts or trades, temporary service provision, journalism, internships and similar purposes.
Colombia Resident Visa (Type R)
The Type R visa is Colombia’s permanent-residency route — for former Colombian nationals, the parent of a Colombian by birth, applicants who have accumulated the required time of permanence, and qualifying foreign direct investors.
Colombia Migrant Visa (Type M)
The Type M visa is for foreign nationals who intend to establish themselves in Colombia but do not yet qualify for a Resident (Type R) visa — for example the spouse or partner of a Colombian, workers, businesspeople, independent professionals, students, investors, retirees and refugees.
Colombia Visa-exempt Entry (short stays)
Nationals of many countries — passports on Colombia’s exemption lists (Lists A, B and C) and certain special cases — may enter Colombia for short tourism, business or leisure visits without a visa. Visa-exempt entry does not permit paid work.
