Check whether you need a visa
Citizens of certain countries can enter visa-free or obtain a visa on arrival, while others need a visa arranged in advance. Start with the official UAE Government portal to find out what applies to your nationality.
Choose the right visa
Short visits use a tourist visa, visa on arrival or the five-year multiple-entry tourist visa. Passing through uses a transit visa. Living and working long-term can use the Green Residence route through the ICP.
Arrange it through the right channel
Tourist and transit visas are usually arranged through UAE-based airlines, hotels or travel agents. Residence routes such as Green Residence are handled by the ICP, and by the GDRFA in Dubai. Use only the official channels.
