Most Chinese visa applications are submitted through the Chinese Visa Application Service Center (CVASC). This page explains how that works in plain language; always follow the instructions for your own application and use only the official channels.
The official Service Center
Applications are made through the Chinese Visa Application Service Center at visaforchina.cn, or through the relevant Chinese embassy or consulate. Use only the official service — third-party sites are not the government channel.
Applying in person
Applicants are usually required to submit their application in person and, where required, provide fingerprints at a Service Center. Your own application instructions confirm whether and where this applies to you.
